Welcome to Pre Kindergarten Dual Language Program at Cooley Elementary

picture of mrs. gamezMy philosophy in teaching has always been that Early Childhood Education is the foundation on which students build on in their formal education.
Parents are the foundation children need for their informal education.  Educating a child cannot happen without both solid foundations.

I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. My parents were also born and raised here in El Paso.

I started my education at Beall Elementary, then Guillen Jr. High, then finally Graduating from Bowie High School.  I still have many wonderful friend I have meet along the way.  I attended the University of Texas at El Paso, UTEP. I studied Education with a specialization in Early Childhood.  I started my teaching career at Burleson Elementary where I taught Pre Kinder and Kinder.  I then moved to Cooley Elementary, when my class was closed, where I have been ever since.

I am very active in several organizations, one of which is Kappa.

Kappa, a teacher organization “The mission of Phi Delta Kappa International is to promote high-quality education, in particular publicly supported education, as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life. This mission is accomplished through leadership, research, and service in education”

I was also very involved with Bowie High School Alumni Association, created in order to fundraise for scholarships for students graduating from Bowie High School that are advancing their education through college and trade schools.

I am married to my wonderful husband Fernando Gamez.  We have 4 great children Sergio, Vanessa, Samantha and Fernie.  We also have 5 awesome grandchildren.
