Hello and welcome to PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities) Kindergarten.  My name is Susan Levick and I would like to give you a little background about me.  I have my masters in Special Education and am certified to teach student from kindergarten through 12th grade.  I have had experience in the EPP/PPCD and the PPCD classroom for the past four years.  My philosophy in the PPCD classroom is that all students do not learn the same way but they do learn.

The routine in the classroom is highly structured and is based on developmentally appropriate practices which include time for social interaction.  I endeavor to provide learning opportunities that are carefully aligned to the student’s level of development and the students IEP (Individualized Education Plan). I believe that a student’s success is partially due to collaborative relationship between the parents and the teaching staff; therefore, I keep open communication with all parents to ensure that we are all working towards the same goal. The educational process in the PPCD classroom is an extension of their parental development; which begins at home.
Parents are fundamental in their children’s academic education and in order to assist in your child’s education it is important to form a partnership for their success.
If you ever need to talk to me, please call the school at 915-236-8600 and schedule a conference, my conference period is from 10:30 - 11:10 AM. You may also e-mail me at srlevick@episd.org or join us on  classroomdojo.com.
