My life started when I had my first son, I was curious in all aspects of his development which only led me to ask more questions of how his brain was learning and processing. So I studied early childhood education, and then he wasn't a baby anymore, but a kindergartner. In order to keep up with him, I received my B.A. from Azusa Pacific in sunny California and became an elementary teacher, when we moved to El Paso, Texas it was important to me to understand how language is processed for bilingual students. Therefore, to best prepare myself I returned to school and completed a Masters Degree as a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist with a focus in bilingual literacy. My goal is to never stop learning, every student is the world and I enjoy the journey. When I am not at school, I am taking my two boys to soccer, football, swimming, baseball or basketball practice or I am training for a triathlon.
This year 3rd graders in my classroom with be part of an Active Learning Curriculum lead by the El Paso Community Foundation, it will help our students learn through their own artist representations of the upcoming state standards. 3C also had weekly opportunities to attend the science lab and really experience experiments through hands on activities.
